Home from our trip, where I stress-ate like a pig.
That's right. We are back. I guess you probably didn't even know we left. I was still pretty sick when we departed, so things were kind of hectic and the blog got neglected.
We spent almost a week on this trip and I think I gained probably at least 62 pounds. I am afraid to look at the scale. You will notice that I am not calling it a vacation. That is because to me the word "vacation" implies relaxation, serenity, peace...not so much on this trip. We went to visit family. We spent the entire time trying our hardest to please everyone and in the end pleased no one and spent the whole time wondering why people were so mad at us when we had crossed hell and high water just to get there in the first place. If I wasn't such a stress-eater, it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but as it is, if I am going to gain weight every time we go to Utah, we just aren't going back. I was so upset one night, I couldn't sleep so I ate an entire cantaloupe at 1:00 in the morning. I cried myself to sleep one night after eating McDonald's for dinner because of a miscommunication about what time dinner was going to be (do you know how I feel about McDonald's?! It was the ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE!!!!!) And I think over the course of the week I singlehandedly finished off an entire carton of Dryer's Mint Brownie ice cream because I was so tired, stressed out and unhappy.
So, there might not be any "Sundays on the Scale" for a while, because I really don't think I can handle it, emotionally. :)
There was some good that came out of this trip, however. I think it was nice for my body just to have time to recover from that flu that plagued me and ruined my tri. I am still a bit short of breath, but that is how I am--because of my bronchial asthma, every time I get sick it just settles into my lungs and it takes quite a while for me to recover. My heart is feeling 98% better though!! Hooray for steroids!! I am excited to get back into training HARD for the Olympic Tri on August 11th.
The kids had a lot of fun doing a lot of fun, outdoor activities.

I also discovered an amazing low-cal salad at Wendy's since we ate more fast food than should be allowed in an entire year. It is the Grilled Chicken Apple Pecan Salad. I ate it without any dressing and it was awesome. And I think it's like 370 calories. Not too shabby!

| Eating a salad with a plastic spoon on my lap in the car on winding mountain roads. So. Awesome. |
And, after years and years of the same-old, same-old....
Ta Da!! I chopped off my hair!! And I'm wondering why I waited so long to do it. I LOVE IT!!! That is my dear friend Amber who was my hair stylist for years and years in Arizona and who moved to Utah a few years ago, just so she could be there to do my hair! :)
Okay--off to pick up the dog from the kennel, then do laundry, unpack, clean and hopefully get a DANG GOOD workout in!!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOO happy to be home!!!!!!!

LOVE THE HAIR CUT! SO CUTE!!! As for the scale, don't worry about it. You'll be back to yourself in no time. Hang in there!
