Preparation and Perspective

I am taking it easy today, trying to get ready for the big day tomorrow. I have been having crazy dreams the last few nights--dreams that I slept in and missed my start or that I forgot to pack and couldn't find my tri shorts or that my bike was weird.  So yesterday I packed and prepared a bunch to hopefully ward off some of those dreams.  Although this morning I realized that I had taken off my wedding ring in the middle of the night and put it in my jewelry box to make sure that I didn't accidentally wear it to the race.  All while I was asleep mind you.  I guess you just can't be too prepared!!

It is kind of hard to focus on anything though, with the tragic events that have happened so close to home.  One of the young men we go to church with was shot multiple times in the theater shooting.  He is doing well, and is at home now, but still this whole thing really puts life into perspective fast.

So today, I will try to rest, think positive, enjoy my carb-loading (PT's orders!!) and be grateful that my family is safe and sound.
Cereal and chocolate milk?!  This is a reason to sign up for more races!!!

  2. Are you still doing the Iron Girl tri? I thought it was on the 22nd? Anyway, good luck and just remember to have fun and don't sweat it (well, sweating is okay though)!

    1. We were originally going to do the Iron Girl, but when they changed it to a Sunday, we changed races.
