Sunday on the Scale

Another pound down, woo hoo!!  I really think for me personally the scale is a vital part of the weight loss thing.  I used to not need it (I would just go by "how my clothes fit"), but now the threat of seeing a bad number on there really helps keep me in line!  So the grand total since I started Sunday on the Scale is 5.4 lbs. lost!  Not too shabby.  Here I am today, a whole 1 pound slimmer than I was last Sunday.  Don't mind my hair--things get crazy when I am hot and humid.

Another thing that is crazy--me, SKIN CANCER SURVIVOR, looking like this today...

Living proof that it actually is advisable to have someone help you put sunscreen on your back.

Well, as I may have mentioned 1200 times, the girls are off to school tomorrow.  I am always looking for ideas for what to pack in my kids' lunches that gives them a healthy variety, so I thought in honor of the first day of third grade tomorrow, I would show you what my girls are getting.

Whole wheat bagel with strawberry cream cheese, fresh cherries, sugar snap peas, granola bar, oatmeal cherry pecan cookie and apple chips for a snack.

So, do you make your own apple chips? If so, how?

    1. Priscilla, if you ever come visit me, I will take you to all the awesome thrift stores that I get all my clothes from.

I didn't make these apple chips, but we have a food dehydrator, so I could. I'm not sure it would be any cheaper though, and definitely more time-consuming.
