| I think I will leave this picture little. I still don't like posting pictures of myself on here. It seems really lame--here I am!!! LOOK AT ME!!!! Judge me! But this way I can see if Kayla approves of my outfit. ;) |
Did you just imagine that title in a loud sports arena announcer's voice? I am pretty happy with the results of this morning's weigh-in. I am down 1.6 pounds this week! Which, although I worked really hard this week, is still surprising because we went camping again this weekend. I have to say I am getting really good at just planning ahead when we travel. I brought a yummy salad with me for dinner one night. While my family ate their "Tacos in a Bag" (basically like Taco Salad in individual bags of Sun Chips), I had my ground turkey on top of tons of fresh veggies. Our tradition is to get Jimmy John's Sandwiches on the way to this particular campground every year. I got their "Unwhich." No. Bread. If you have ever had Jimmy John's, you know what a huge sacrifice that was for me!! But it saved me 255 calories! And I packed little servings of my homemade Greek yogurt with berries and honey for my breakfast while the family feasted on breakfast burritos (still made with turkey sausage--they eat healthy, too. They just get more than I do.)

| Breakfast burritos taste even better with a bike helmet on! |
We also try to be pretty active when we camp and travel in any form, really. We took the kids on a twelve mile bike ride on Friday morning, then spent the rest of the day playing at the reservoir. Oh, it was so hot. I'm sure most of that weight loss was sweat! But it is still weight loss!!
This week's potential pitfalls include my son's birthday on Tuesday, the Fourth of July with good friends on Wednesday, and a visit from another friend and her family on Thursday. Hmmm...what is it with food and social events?!
Good news, though! My girls start back to school a week from tomorrow! So hopefully with two kids less I will be able to get back to more working out and baking/cooking!
Cute dress!
ReplyDeleteOh, and also...you shouldn't feel "lame" about posting pictures of yourself, especially not on here! This is YOUR blog! I'm telling you, people reading blogs want to see pictures of the author, even if (or maybe especially if) it's in the context of weightloss/self-improvement. Think about what draws you to other peoples' blogs. I know I am more likely to click on and read the full post of the blogs with photos. I used to feel sort of weird about posting pictures of myself working out, or running or just whenever, but one day I just decided, you know what? This is my blog, it's about me and my stuff, and for better or worse, this is what look like today doing...(insert activity here)! You should feel the same confidence because I guarantee your friends and loyal readers are not judging you near as harshly as you judge yourself. You are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I also read (in one of those successful blog writing articles) that you should have at least one picture with every post, so why not a picture of yourself? :)
I approve!! :). I love the color of that dress on you , and the neutral shoe elongates hour legs!!! Yeah!!! Congrats on your weight loss.
