Allergies!

So out of nowhere the past few days I have been hit HARD with seasonal allergies.  One day I'm fine, the next I'm a sniveling, sneezing, eye-watering, itching, exhausted zombie-like creature.  I had never had allergies until a few years ago when I got them bad.  I went to the doctor who gave me a shot that almost instantly got rid of all my symptoms and was so completely effective that I called the doctor's office to find out the name of the medicine so I could request it again.  A few years later, when a friend was suffering, I told her the name of the meds so she could get the hook up.  Her doctor told her that he could lose his medical license if he were to give her that medicine!  The risk of potential side effects outweighed the benefits.  I looked it up, just for fun...

Possible side effects of my miracle allergy drug:

upset stomach, headachedizziness, trouble sleeping, or weight gain... bone pain, easy bruising/bleeding,  vomit that looks like coffee grounds, severe stomach/abdominal pain, increased thirst/urination, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, swelling of the ankles/feet, persistent weight gain, puffy face, unusual hair growth, thinning skin, slow wound healing, signs of infection (e.g., persistent fever/cough/sore throat, painful urination, eye pain/discharge), muscle weakness/pain, mental/mood changes (e.g., mood swings, depression, agitation), vision changes, seizures, unusual skin growths,  fever, increased/severe pain with swelling of the joint, weakness in the joint, or decreased range of motion in the joint, rash,itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Que interesante. (From now on I am blaming all weight/mental issues on the drugs.)   Anyway, I did get some meds today (not my special little miracle drug...) and they do seem  to be helping some.

I saw a post on Facebook that was kind of funny to me, though.  "My allergies are so bad, I guess I can't go to the gym today."

What?!  I can use allergies as an excuse?!  You know what they say...when you are looking for an excuse, any excuse will do.  I have been doing two-a-days despite my zombie-like status.  Today was CrossFit and Open-water swimming.  Yesterday swim conditioning class in the morning and a five mile run in the evening.  I just suck it up.  Unfortunately, I mean that literally.

Happy Wednesday!  I'm going to bed!
