That being said--EAT MORE?! I'm scared to do it!! Seriously!!
I looked more into the eating clean movement that Priscilla mentioned in her comment. The blog she recommended had a calorie calculator on there that said I should be eating like 3000 calories a day!!! I don't think that would be wise. I did order multiple books on clean eating so that I can have a guide and make sure I am doing it "right." I think I already do, but a little motivation, help and recipe ideas can't hurt! Plus, I ordered one on clean eating for kids which I am really excited about. I have a hard time knowing what snacks to feed them. If you will remember I tried making my own crackers--tasty but TIME CONSUMING!!!
Then I was just talking to my sister about my issues and she told me about a blog post from hungry runner girl about disordered eating. Okay, that spoke to me!!! Just this part alone is so ME:

I highly, highly recommend reading the whole post!!! (Or maybe you all have already read it and I am just extremely late to the party!) I have so much to think about and digest! Thank you to all of you who commented and were willing to give thoughts and advice. I need to figure this out and not give up!!
This morning's breakfast for the kids were breakfast paninis. I saw an ad that some fast food restaurant was making them and I thought, those look easy and tasty! All I did was put poached eggs, turkey bacon and cheddar cheese on French bread and pop it in the panini press (you could just grill it, too!) I know--French bread, turkey bacon=not clean. But I did the shopping before I decided to change things up. And besides, this is just what I made for my kids! I had my homemade yogurt with berries and honey, like I do every single day! :)

I know that when I took my nutrition class they talked about a machine that they had on campus to use as part of research to figure out a personalized calorie count to tell you how many calories you really should be eating for YOU not for people that are similar to you. There has got to be machines like that in your area if you are interested. In just what I learned in my entry level nutrition class your body is likely in starvation mode hanging on to every oz of fat, because I agree that you probably aren't getting enough to eat. Granted I am not an experienced nutrition expert or exercise expert but what I have learned seems logical and applicable and in line with what your sister and friend have said. My doctor told me that he believes that if you avoid all the processed foods and eat 2000 calories of the right food your body will have what it needs to do what it needs to do. Good luck and I think you look great and healthy which I personally think looks much better than skinny. :) Love you Lindsay! You will figure it out sooner or later with how determined you are.
ReplyDeleteAnd then you need to write a book and make lots of money selling it :)
