"Well, obviously the swim is my weak spot. I really need to work on the swim. I was really slow, and I still get a little panicky when things start to go wrong...And the bike. Yeah, I'm pretty slow and I need to be stronger on the hills. Well, and obviously I suck at running. I'm not even sure I was ever taught to run properly...And I can always shave time off transition." Hmmm...that is just about everything. Apparently the entire sport is my weakness.
So today I hit up my first swim conditioning class. Six in the morning. When I got there a friend remarked, "Usually people start their swim training before the triathlon..." Smirk. I do have another one coming up!! The class was soooooo beneficial!! I have never had anyone who knows what they are doing critique me and tell me what to do to improve. She had me do different drills and focus on specific areas I could work on. By the end of the hour and fifteen minutes, I felt a HUGE improvement in my stroke. I also was finally figuring out what the difference between a 50m, 100m, 200m etc. was. AND I figured out why there are lines on the bottom of the pool--you can follow them in case there aren't lane lines set up. (It takes me a while sometimes.) I can't believe how much it helped. So now I'll be up at the crack of dawn every single morning. Which explains why I'm ready to go to bed every day around 4:45pm.
Meatless Monday yesterday was a kid-pleaser. I'm all about quick and easy these days! My life has felt so disjointed with half of my kids in school and half out. Luckily next week the other two go back and things will return to normal, at least for a few weeks.
Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
1 loaf Italian bread (or more, depending on your kids)
Fresh mozarella cheese
Turkey pepperoni
Marinara sauce
Make grilled cheese sandwiches with the bread, pepperoni and cheese. (We used our panini press, but it is not necessary. Use the marinara as dipping sauce.
That's it.
And for your viewing pleasure--here is my dog doing Yoga.
