Training with kids and a plea

Today after a KILLER workout at CrossFit I went to the pool and swam the exact length that I will be swimming in the tri a week from tomorrow. It took me forever and I was feeling discouraged until I realized that on the day of the actual race I won't have my kids sitting on the sidelines yelling, "Can I have another snack?", "Are you done yet?" , "I'm bored!" and "Can you open my granola bar?" with every single length I swim.   :)

I found a great new blog to read about a triathlete--like a real, crazy Iron Woman, ultra-triathlete that does crazy hard races...and has four kids, just like me.  I am excited to read more to figure out how she does it.  I have such a hard time figuring out how to schedule my training around my kids' schedules--it's even trickier when you are training for three completely different sports and trying to cross-train as well.  Hopefully I can glean some knowledge from this girl!!

One thing that I think would help would be staying healthy.  I have been feeling a sore throat coming on today.  I know--ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  I have been popping the kids' vitamins like they are candy and drinking hot chocolate and vitamin water.  And I am about to leave the kids down here watching the Olympics and head up to bed.  Here is my plea--send happy, healthy thoughts my way!!  I HAVE to be 100% healthy next Saturday.  Or at least 96%!!!
